Year 2 trip to Coventry Transport Museum
Thu 23 Jan 2025On Wednesday 22nd of January 2025 Year 2 walked to Coventry Transport Museum.
Whilst there, we saw a Hobby Horse bicycle which was one of the first bicycles made and also the Bone Shaker bicycle.
We also spotted the Sky Blues bus which the team travelled on, through the city of Coventry after winning the FA Cup in 1987.
Everyone was excited to see the Safety Bicycle which was designed by John Starley (James Starley’s nephew) in 1885. This was also made in the city of Coventry. This bicycle had a diamond shaped frame, brakes, pedals and a chain which is very similar to our bicycles today.
Lastly we saw the modern cars and liked the amazing sports cars designed by Jaguar Land Rover in Coventry City. Everyone in the class felt proud that our city was once the lead for designing and building bicycle and motor cars.
