PE

Children at All Saints enjoy very active life styles and the PE curriculum is designed to inspire children to access exercise in a variety of ways.  Our PE coach leads teaching sessions, supports teachers develop their skills and also promotes activity at playtimes and through afterschool clubs.

In 2022 we introduced the real PE curriculum to develop children's physical skills. Our journey began with real PE teacher training to support our PE provision. This will enable us to further develop the whole child and will extend across the school to include support for families and the wider school community.

In addition to teacher training, real PE will be providing:

  • school-based support
  • fun real PE activities and games for families to play at home to support home learning
  • enrichment and competitive opportunities
  • supporting resources.

The programme is delivered using a holistic approach to develop children's physical, personal, social and emotional skills.

We are on a mission to get our children more active by developing the fundamental physical skills that are so often overlooked. Our PE lessons are centred around the child to enable them to be successful both in the classroom and in later life. We are actively engaged in competitions across Coventry schools.  We also invite local schools to join us for competitions.  Children enjoy the opportunity to meet other schools.  They also enjoy the opportunity of wearing our new school sports kit donated from a local business after some of our enterprising pupils wrote very persuasive letters!

Ms Braithwaite, is in school Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays.  You will often find her on the playground enjoying playing with the children and encouraging them to be active.  She rewards children to their efforts and participation.  She also promotes and recognises our school values through sport and daily activity.

Each half term, Ms Braithwaite organises a 'House Event'.  This might be a personal challenge or a team event.  The events are great fun and children look forward to the experiences!

There is a free after school program offered to Years 1-6 throughout the year.  Ms Braithwaite works to ensure every child has opportunity to join in sessions.
