Teacher Training Days
During the academic year a total of 195 days are defined as 'school days’. Pupils must attend school for 190 days and the remaining 5 days are reserved for professional training of school staff. These 5 training days are set at each individual school's discretion.

Who Decides Term Dates?
School terms and holiday dates are set by the local authority (LA) each year in consultation with parents, headteachers, governing bodies, professional associations, Diocesan Boards of Education, FE Colleges and Trades Unions.
Term dates for Coventry's schools are set up to three years in advance.
